1. Introduction

Welcome to AgriSound. AgriSound Limited (“AgriSound”, “we”, “our” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use and protect personal data when you visit our website at agrisound.io, get in touch with us, use our live chat, or use the AgriSound Hub platform and our monitoring services. It should be read alongside our Terms & Conditions.

2. Who We Are

AgriSound Limited is the controller of the personal data described in this policy. We are a company registered in England and Wales with registered number 12427215. Our registered office is at Bank Farm Buildings, Chester Road, Aldford, Chester, CH3 6HJ, United Kingdom.

3. Information We Collect

We collect information to provide our services to growers, pollination providers, agronomists and corporate partners, and to improve them over time.

  • Enquiry information: when you book a discovery call, request a pilot or quote, ask about careers, or send feedback from our knowledge base, we collect the details you enter. Depending on the form, this can include your name, email address, phone number, company, role, country or region, site and crop details, the products you are interested in, your preferred call time, any notes you add, and the page the request was sent from.
  • Account information: when you sign up for AgriSound Hub, we collect details such as your name, email address, company name and contact details.
  • Order information: when you buy Products or Services from us, we collect delivery and billing details and a record of what you have ordered.
  • Live chat: our website uses tawk.to to provide live chat. If you use it, the name, email address and messages you send are processed by tawk.to on our behalf, together with technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you view on our site.
  • Usage data: our hosting provider records technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser, device type and the pages requested. We use this to run, secure and troubleshoot our services. We do not use analytics or advertising trackers on this website.
  • Sensor and field data: AgriSound sensors collect acoustic and environmental data about pollinator and biodiversity activity at the sites where they are deployed. We use it to provide analytics, alerts and reports to the customer who owns the deployment, and for research and development in a form that does not identify the specific site location. It is not used to identify individual people. How this data is handled is also covered by our Terms & Conditions.

If you email us directly, we collect your email address and whatever you include in your message.

4. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • respond to your enquiry, arrange calls and prepare proposals or quotes;
  • provide, maintain and improve AgriSound Hub and our monitoring services;
  • set up and manage pilots, orders and customer accounts;
  • process transactions and send related information, including confirmations and invoices;
  • send technical notices, updates, security alerts, and support and administrative messages;
  • provide analytics, insights and reports to our customers about their sites;
  • consider job applications and speculative enquiries;
  • keep our website and platform secure and working properly; and
  • meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.

We do not sell your personal data.

5. Our Legal Basis

Under UK data protection law we rely on the following lawful bases:

  • Contract: where we need your data to take steps you have asked for before entering into a contract, or to perform a contract with you.
  • Legitimate interests: to respond to business enquiries, follow up on conversations you have started with us, and run, improve and secure our services. We balance these interests against your rights and you can object at any time.
  • Legal obligation: where we must keep records, for example for tax purposes.
  • Consent: where we have asked for it. You can withdraw consent at any time.

6. Who We Share Your Data With

We share personal data only with service providers who help us run our business, and only as far as they need it to provide their service to us. These include:

  • Google: website hosting (Google Cloud, London region), our internal email and messaging tools where enquiries are delivered to our team, staff sign-in, and map images;
  • HubSpot: our customer relationship management (CRM) and email tools;
  • Campaign Monitor: sending email newsletters and updates;
  • tawk.to: live chat; and
  • WordPress hosting: our blog and news content is managed in WordPress.

We may also share data with professional advisers, with a buyer or successor if our business is sold or restructured, or where the law requires us to.

7. International Transfers

Some of our service providers store or access data outside the UK. Where this happens we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as a UK adequacy decision or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.

8. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect the security of your personal data and the data collected through our sensors and platform. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of information sent to us over the internet.

9. How Long We Keep Your Data

We keep personal data only for as long as we need it for the purposes above. Enquiry details are kept while we are in discussion with you and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you get back in touch. Customer, account and order records are kept for the length of our relationship and afterwards for as long as the law requires, for example for tax and accounting purposes. When we no longer need data, we delete or anonymise it.

10. Cookies and Similar Technologies

AgriSound does not set analytics or advertising cookies on this website. The tawk.to live chat sets its own cookies and local storage so it can keep your conversation going as you move between pages. If you use an access code or invite link for our deployment calculator, or sign in to it as a member of staff, we set a strictly necessary cookie (__session) that remembers you have access. It can’t be read by scripts on the page and lasts up to 30 days, or 7 days for staff. When staff sign in with Google, Firebase also keeps that sign-in in the browser’s storage until they sign out. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but the live chat and the calculator may not work without them.

Some pages display interactive maps. The map images are loaded from Google, which means your browser sends your IP address and the requested map area to Google. Blog articles may also include embedded content such as videos or images from other websites, which may collect data about you under their own privacy policies.

11. Your Rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct data that is wrong or incomplete;
  • ask us to delete your data;
  • ask us to restrict how we use your data, or object to us using it;
  • ask us to transfer your data to another organisation; and
  • withdraw your consent where we rely on it.

Some of these rights do not apply in every situation, for example where we must keep data for legal reasons. To make a request, email hello@agrisound.io. We will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please contact us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated shown at the top.

13. Contact Us
